Dharma Varahappian is a product leader and storyteller bridging ancient Indian heritage with the digital future. An engineer by training from Anna University, his expertise in Generative AI and Large Language Models allows him to envision the "Cyber-Tradition" world of his debut work, Chennai 2043.
With more than 16 years of experience across India, the US, and South Korea, he has built and scaled products that power the backbone of global commerce. From reverse logistics at Walmart to cross-border fulfillment at Coupang, and now shipping innovation at eBay, his journey reflects both technical depth and a global perspective.
At eBay, he leads the Cross-Border Shipping team, tackling one of the hardest challenges in e-commerce: making worldwide delivery predictable. By enabling duty and compliance frameworks and advancing Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) models, he helps close the uncertainty gap in global shipping. Leveraging AI and deep learning, his work transforms complexity into trust — directly influencing buyer conversion and seller confidence.
Beyond technology, he is a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), recognized for excellence in public speaking and leadership. This achievement reflects a commitment to community building, mentorship, and thought leadership — skills that extend beyond boardrooms into cultural conversations.
